How many times have you heard someone say that our brains are only operating at a small percentage of their capabilities? I know that I hear this mentioned every once in a while on the science channel, when they are airing some show on the human body, or the brain. How many times have you heard that we only use about ten percent of our brains? I hate to say this to those of you that think that this statement is true, but it is just a myth. While we don't know exactly how much of the brain is used, many suspect it is almost the entire brain. I think the better question is, are we using the brain's features to their full capacity? Scientists have been testing people's brain power for many years and they have found out that there are certain memory tricks that can be used that make it appear that someone has abilities that really don't exist. This usually shows up in the field of mathematics. An example of this is some of the training that young Japanese children are getting. They are being trained in the art of visualizing an abacus in their head and actually using it. This seems to give them incredible powers of calculation, when in effect it is only a technique that can be learned by all of us, if we are willing to dedicate ourselves to years of practice.

We have been experimenting with the human brain for many years now. There was Project MK ULTRA for example. In the early 1950s, the CIA and the Office of Scientific intelligence ran a program that they hoped would lead to mind control and could be used along with different interrogation techniques. It is said that the program ran for about ten years, but we really can't be sure it ever stopped. Many different types of drugs were used along with procedures that were meant to manipulate one's mental state, which in turn was supposed to open people's minds and make them more receptive to suggestions. The program came to light in 1975, but by that time it was too late. All the files had been ordered destroyed in 1973 and thus the cover up was complete. All the evidence of what had been going on was gone. It is said that the military has known for years that certain frequencies of light, when flashed at certain rates, can disturb our brain patterns. When this is combined with sound and ultrasound waves, people can hear sound inside of their heads. Now we have a system to make you more compliant and a system that allows the user to make suggestions to the person receiving these signals. It almost sounds like we can use people like zombies if we so desire, doesn't it? We are not the only ones that know about this. The former Soviets conducted their own experiments in this field in the1970s. In England scientists claimed that they could put people to sleep, when ever they wanted using radio waves.

The U.S. currently has a huge array of transmitters. The facility is known as HAARP. It has worried many people for years now and it's true function is really still a mystery, unless you buy the military explanation that it produces radio waves to probe the ionosphere. The release of certain documents under the Freedom of Information Act, seem to indicate that this system is capable of shutting down different types of radio transmissions all over the world. The really big question is , can it interfere with human brains? Some people think that this may be the real purpose of HAARP. One has to wonder if it could have been used this way already, without the people who were effected by it ever knowing? Could the reason we were so successful with the Iraq invasions be that we tampered with the brains of Iraqi soldiers and did something to them to slow them down or even broadcast surrender thoughts? This is all just supposition, that there was a very remote chance that this happened, but it probably didn't. It is still very interesting to think about, because if we do have a weapon of this nature, it probably would be the most powerful weapon ever invented. Others have said that this is not the function of HAARP at all. That it really is some sort of communications device that can allow radio waves to reach submarines and people far under the ground. You have to remember that we have been digging deep tunnels all over this country and especially in the west and mid west. These tunnels are said to connect huge underground bases.

It is said that the black budget for the military has become so large and the military industrial scientific relationships so secret, that it is almost impossible to find anyone that truly knows what is going on in the field of military brain research, or any military fields for that matter. The ones on the inside, that are disgusted with what is going on, have been terrorized by threats to themselves and to their families, if they talk to anyone about their work and investigators on the outside can find little or no evidence, due to the extreme security in these matters. Yet rumors abound of incredible experiments. Sometimes these experiments are said to violate the subject's rights. Remember those poor military guys that were given LSD in the 1960s without their knowledge? This is the kind of stuff I am talking about and maybe even worse. Many say that we have now become a National Security State. One doctor broke the mold. Steven H. Miles, M.D. has discussed documents that were in the public realm, over 35,000 pages of documents. While the documents are public, it is said that the government doesn't like the attention being brought to them, because they show that the medical community may be looking the other way when unsavory experiments are taking place. I have no way of knowing if this is true or not, but would that be such a surprise when you consider that they are dependent on the government for many of their grants and sometimes even their jobs? It is said that new weapons can alter human identity. They modify the memory and cognition of the people they are used on, along with a lot of other effects.

Were any famous crimes the result of brain modification? Funny that you should ask that question. Remember when Patty Hearst was kidnapped? It was a guy by the name of Donald Defreeze a.k.a. Cinque, the supposed leader of the Symbionese Liberation Army, that was responsible. The story was that Hearst had been brainwashed so thoroughly by DeFreeze that she turned to his side. The question was how did DeFreeze know how to do this? What I am about to tell you has recently appeared in a book. It is said that DeFreeze was taught this, when he was an inmate at Vacaville State Prison. It is said that the CIA used him for their experimental behavioral modification experiments. It is further stated that a CIA psychological warfare expert was the one who did this. The experiment was said to have produced multiple personalities. This same psychologist designed the seven-headed cobra emblem of the SLA and he was the one who named DeFreeze, Cinque. This means that when DeFreeze kidnapped Hearst, he might have been acting under a different personality that was the direct result of CIA manipulation(Bluebird, p. 212) This just goes to show you how people's personalities could be changed.

I sort of hate to get into this, but it would be unfair of me not to. Some people think that the government and alien abductions are tied together. Here is what some believe, they think that government agents are abducting people and conducting experiments on them and then injecting them with drugs or using other means to make them think that aliens did this to them, when in fact it was us. I am just throwing this out there so that you can get the big picture. There are several books out there that claim that we are experimenting on people, without their knowledge. If we are experimenting with mind control and using it on an unsuspecting population, than we could get them to do almost anything. One of the first things that comes to my mind are elections. We could get anyone we wanted elected by planting the suggestion of who to vote for in the minds of the electorate. Talk about unethical practices. There has to be controls on this stuff, yet how do you control something that is top secret? It is said that two teenage girls were experimented on with regard to mind control and that the CIA stated that, “These subjects have clearly demonstrated that they can pass from a fully awake state to a deep H [hypnotic] controlled state by telephone, by receiving written matter, or by the use of code, signal, or words, and that control of those hypnotized can be passed from one individual to another without great difficulty. It has also been shown by experimentation with these girls that they can act as unwilling couriers for information purposes.”

Our minds are what make us what we are. I also realize that if experiments are being carried out on unsuspecting people, that this is wrong. If people volunteer that is another ball game, but in this case how would we ever know if the paper they signed was of their own free will? Maybe we have gone too far in our search for ways to defend ourselves. If we destroy someone's mind, isn't that just as bad as killing them? If we take away their memories of who they were, then they might as well be dead. There has to be some moral high ground, some area where we have to say that this is enough. We can't just keep developing things that are so harmful to the entire human race. Nuclear weapons were bad enough, but wiping out people's brains or transforming them into some mindless creature that just carries out someone's whims, might even be worse. It is time we stepped back and looked at what we are doing. It is time to do the right thing for a change.
