Are We The First?

I have mentioned the fact a few times that it is conceivable that the earth is much older than we suspect, because the sun is beginning to look much older. As I have said before, the sun may be as much as three times older than suspected, or even more, because the processes that makes it a sun, may not be working the way we expected. This is not my opinion, but the opinion of some respected scientists. Some would say so what? The thing is that this could have ramifications. Those ramifications might be that if the earth is way older than we think, then intelligent life may have started and died out here several times, before we came on the world stage. We might be the third or fourth try to get it right.

If intelligent life did exist on the earth before, it might still exist somewhere. How do we know that it didn't spread out into the universe? We could have populated other star systems and maybe some of those UFO sightings are just former races that lived on earth coming back to see how things are going? This might be a far stretch, but maybe the earth is responsible for most of the life in this part of the galaxy, or throughout the galaxy. It could be that the combinations needed for life may have been so perfect on this planet, that it became the source for life. As I said, that is a stretch indeed and I really can't believe that, but why couldn't there have been races of intelligent beings on earth before us? If they existed far enough back in time, all evidence of their existence might have been wiped out. The earth is dynamic and nothing lasts on or in the earth forever, it is just a matter of time before it is crushed, rots or is drawn down to the center of our hot core.

There is always the other side of the coin. We are going down deeper into the earth than man has ever gone before. We have deep mines, deep drilling oil rigs and drilling experiments. Could it be that things are being discovered that are being kept from us that would show us that we weren't the first to inhabit this planet? Do you know how people have said that giants existed on the earth at one time? It turns out that in a deep copper mine, a hammer was found that weighed 64 pounds. I have to ask this question. What human would wield a 64 pound hammer all day? The biggest, strongest man can use a 20 pound sledge hammer if he is in great shape. Most of us would use a 10 pound sledge and only for a limited amount of time. The copper mine was believed to be around 3,500 years old and over 2,500 hammers were found there.

Does this mean that giants lived about 3,500 years ago? Well this is a pretty short period of time for this to have happened, but maybe the giant hammer was not part of the 3,500 year old mine and maybe it had been mined millions of years before that and we don't know that and it is just a coincidence that this hammer was found with the others. Sometimes you have to think out of the box. It is very hard to date a mine and I think that this is done mostly by what is found in it and since most of the tools that were found were bronze age, it was thought that the big hammer was also bronze age and that the mine was started in the bronze age, when it could have been millions of years older. Since most scientists don't recognize the fact that humans could have been around then, they would not have dated the mine older than that.

There is a lot of talk that beings existed at one time that were more like reptiles and yet they had human like intelligence. Is there anyway that this could have been possible? It is a very common idea and appears in our mythology and folklore, along with ufology and conspiracy theories. It is said that they existed under the earth and may still be there. Supposedly they evolved at the same time we did, in a way that was parallel to our evolution. In Indian scriptures, that is Indians from India not American Indians, scriptures talk about the Naga. They are supposedly reptilian beings that are said to live underground and sometimes interact with us. There has been a legend in the middle east about reptilian people for many thousands of years. A Canadian scientist has stated that he believes that if the dinosaurs had not all disappeared, theropods would have evolved into intelligent beings.

Maybe some day we will discover some island somewhere, where there is some sort of intelligent life other than human, but would we recognize this fact, or would we just cart them all off to different zoos? How do we know that Dolphins are not as intelligent as us but just not as evolved in their culture? Just because you can't fully understand something doesn't mean that it is not as intelligent as you. Could it be that if we had discovered the first Neanderthals that they would have performed tricks for us to get food? Maybe they would have, it is a lot easier than having to hunt it down. They might have thought that this was a great deal. Maybe they would have figured that balancing a ball on their nose and getting a meal for it was an easy way to eat when the alternative was risking your life to hunt down an animal. I have heard some people even say that dogs were as smart as us, but this is carrying things too far. At least with Dolphins their brains would indicate that they have a chance of being at least as smart as us if not smarter.

I am not trying to start a conspiracy theory here, but how do we account for all the ancient stuff that has been found that predates man? You could probably fill a museum with it and yet no scientist worth his salt will talk about this stuff for fear of being labeled a kook. One of the problems with humans is that they are far too sensitive to criticism. This can even cost people their jobs, government grants and the friendship of their peers. So there you have it, if there were intelligent races here on earth before us, or if they are living here, maybe inside the earth, no one that knows the truth will admit anything.
