Over the years there have been several UFO incidents that stand out above the rest. These incidents have never been explained to anyone's satisfaction. Sure the government has come out with explanations for some of them and as a matter of fact has even come out with several different explanations over the years on individual incidents. This fact alone makes one wonder if they are hiding anything? It would certainly seem that way. Some of these incidents have been talked about so much that one can't help but feel sick when he or she hears about them, because we know that so much time has passed and so many witnesses have died that there is probably no way that we will ever solve the mystery now, unless some super secret document comes to light that explains the entire thing and even then we will wonder if it is genuine.

The Roswell crash is the most famous of these incidents, but not the most mysterious. It was originally thought that a UFO crashed on a ranch and spread debris for miles. The story went that alien bodies were found in the wreckage and the military threatened all the witnesses and then shipped the bodies away after performing an autopsy on them. A newspaper even published a headline that a flying saucer had crashed in the area. The U.S. Army then went into high gear and brought out the pieces of a weather balloon and said that was the object that crashed. This story has become even more famous over the years thanks to Stanton Friedman discovering documents that seem to indicate that the government has a secret branch that was set up to disavow and investigate these types of things. In later years it was discovered that there were probably two distinct crashes and that two UFOs might have hit each other in the sky. The second crash was said to have taken place some miles away from the first and supposedly the UFO was almost in one piece and contained more alien dead.

It is one thing for a crash to take place, but it is entirely another for a UFO to interfere with a military installation. That is exactly what happened in 1967 when a UFO flew over Malmstrom Air Force Base and interfered with our Minuteman missiles. A military policeman noticed a UFO circling over one of the missile silos and alerted the launch crew who might have thought it was a joke and supposedly told him to keep observing it. A little while later one missile went off line. The crew commander thought that a maintenance crew had taken the missile off line without telling him and he angrily called the military police, only to find out that they hadn't begun their work yet. The military police guard told him of the UFO, which he didn't believe. Just then other missiles began to go off line for no apparent reason. It didn't take long before the entire flight of Minuteman missiles were all off line. Guidance and control had gone out in every missile, yet they were still being supplied with power. Teams were sent to the sites that reported back that UFOs were hovering over them. One soldier described the situation as “all hell broke loose”. UFOs had demonstrated that they could knock out our weapons any time they wanted to.

Another very important UFO event occurred near an American Air Force Base in England. It occurred on December 27, 1980 in Rendlesham Forest, which is right next to the bases of Bentwaters and Woodbridge. A security patrol saw unusual lights outside the back gate of Woodbridge Air Force Base. A patrol was sent into the woods to investigate, they thought that a plane might have went down. What they saw was not a plane, but a strange glowing object. The object was metallic and triangular in shape. It was about two meters high and two to three meters at the base. It had a white light with a pulsating red light on top. It was either hovering slightly off the ground or was on legs, it is not clear. As the patrol approached the object it maneuvered through the trees and disappeared. Depressions were found in the dirt the next day. There were three of them that were about 7 inches in diameter and about 1 ½ inches deep. Later that night a sun like object was seen through the trees. The object moved and pulsed and seemed to throw off glowing particles. It disappeared. Then star like objects were seen in the sky. Two objects to the north and one to the south. They displayed red, green and blue lights. They flew in full circles. What makes this sighting even more relevant is the fact that the deputy commander of the base, Charles I. Halt, a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, was present and saw these things and made an audio recording of what he saw. It certainly appeared that the UFO wanted to be seen. Was this part of a long term program to get us used to UFOs before the occupants finally show themselves to us?

In October 1967 an incredible thing happened at Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada. A UFO was seen in the sky that seemed to be in trouble. Witnesses reported that the object was making a whistling sound, then made a big bang noise as it went underwater. The object had a yellow light on top. The police arrived within 15 minutes. A pale yellow light could be seen bobbing on the surface of the water. As they watched, the object sank. Local fishing boats tried to rescue survivors, thinking it was a plane crash. A yellow foam could be seen on the water that was about 80 feet wide and a mile long. The Coast Guard arrived the next morning and it was determined that no planes were missing. The military had found out about the UFO report and sent divers to the area. Some divers stated that they saw unearthly beings. It was said that a second UFO dove into the water to help the first one. The U.S. Navy was also said to have arrived on the scene and all these forces spent about a week trying to catch a UFO, but to no avail. The story goes on to say the the first UFO must have gotten repaired for about a week later, both UFOs were seen blasting out of the water into the sky. There are unconfirmed stories that photos of the objects had been taken and the objects were not from the earth. It is also said that some of the foam from the craft was taken back to a lab. A former diver from the search team has come forward and stated that the Canadian and U.S. governments had monitored the UFOs with radar and sonar. He claims they did this for three days before a Russian submarine entered the area. At that point the forces headed for the submarine and when they got back, the UFOs were gone.

There are different versions of all these sightings. That is usually the problem when people recite what they saw, but basically these are the events as they happened. We learned several very important things from these sightings. The Roswell event showed us that UFOs did exist. The Malmstrom Air Force Base incident showed us that UFOs are powerful and can interfere with our weapons systems and probably everything electrical that we have come to depend on. The Rendlesham Forest incident may have happened to alert us to the reality of UFOs and prepare us for contact. Lastly the Shag Harbour incident showed us that these UFOs can travel underwater as easily as they travel in our skies. Yes there is a lot to learn and we are learning.
