Unproven Creatures
Creatures, they exist all over the world. I guess how many there are depends on how we define the word creature. When I talk about creatures, I am referring to exotic animals who have never been proved to exist, but who's existence has been reported from time to time by witnesses. If someone asked me for an example of this I might reply by saying that Bigfoot is one of the creatures that I am talking about. Bigfoot has been drawing attention for many years as has another similar creature called the Yeti in the Himalayas. The existence of neither creature has ever been proven and yet there have been many expeditions and much folklore to support their existence. There has been so much said about these two particular creatures that I am not going to talk about them here. A very strange creature was found in Russia. It was found by soldiers at the Sakhain shoreline. To give you an idea where this is located, let me say that this part of Russia is about 5,000 miles from Moscow. Since it was found on the beach, it was first presumed to be some type of fish. Tests have shown that it was not a fish. The skeleton was examined and crocodiles and alligators were eliminated. The creature is covered with skin and that skin has hair, or fur, on it The creature was finally taken away by Russian special services. They took it to perform more tests on it, to hopefully find out what they had found. Every once in a while some creature is found that defies scientific identification. Most of the time the creatures are in such a decomposed state that we could never know what they looked like in life. Since we are on the subject of strange creatures in Russia, I have to mention the creature that was said to be found in Chelyabinsk. It was found in a ditch that had been flooded at a construction site. The water had come from an underground river and the ditch had been flooded for quite some time. A couple of workers threw the remains of their lunch into the ditch and were startled as something moved in the water. The workers went over to the ditch and found a creature in it. The creature attacked a workman and he killed it. The creature was said to have been about 5 inches long.
Giant Squid For thousands of years there have been stories about sea creatures. Most of the stories talked about creatures that could sink ships. If you sailed out on your ship and it was struck by a storm and sunk 500 years ago, it could have easily been said and believed that a giant sea creature grabbed in and pulled it down to the depths. Many stories existed about giant squid and until recently we laughed at them, that was until we began to start finding these huge creatures. Even though they exist, the stories about them attacking ships is still very much in doubt. It is true however that we know less about the ocean than we know about the surface of the moon, so anything could be down there.
Owlman The Owlman of Mawnan. This is a creature that was first sighted in Great Britain in 1976. When a witness was asked to describe the Owlman he said that it looked like three things that somehow became mixed together. He said that it looked like a mix of an owl, a man and bear. It was said to have large wings that were gray in color and covered in feathers. The creature was said to be about 7 feet tall. It had large eyes and its legs and body were also covered with feathers. It had pointy ears. The feet were very strange with what looked like claws that resembled crab claws. The creature was said to make extremely loud screeching noises. Two women also saw this creature in 1976 hovering over a church tower and were so scared they cut their vacation short. Others saw it standing in a tree but had thought that is was someone in a costume, until the creature started flying and flew away. When I mention the Owlman, I can not help but think about the Mothman. While the Mothman sighting took place in New England, it was of a bird like creature that was described as being about the same height. Could there be either a couple of these creatures, or could one have visited both places? Ebu Gogo is a strange creature indeed. It is said to have been seen in Indonesia. The people there state that it can walk on two legs like a human, but has a tail. They are said to have wide faces and broad flat noses. They are also said to have a large mouth and a very hairy body. The female has breasts. The natives believe that they have a language of their own and have said that they have heard them talking a language that they could not understand. It was also said that if you said something to this creature it would repeat it like a parrot. Doyarchu is a creature that is said to exist on Achill Island in the western coast of Ireland and in the Sraheens Lough Lake. The creature is described as being about the size of a crocodile, but that is where the similarity ends. When witnesses describe it they say that it looks like a cross between a dog and an otter. Supposedly it is covered with a very black fur. Some witnesses state that when they saw the creature it had a white patch on its body. Could the fur change color at different times of the year? Could these witnesses be wrong and there are no longer any new species left to discover? We know that there are more species that are still undiscovered since we find several new ones every year. Whether the witnesses are wrong about their sightings is a whole other problem. |
