Why did sixteen horses die in one field in the U.S. ? This strange event was discovered in the third week of October, 2005. There they were, all lying around the field dead as door nails, yet there didn't seem to be any marks on the animals to indicate how this had happened. The animals were tested for poisons or food contamination but nothing showed up in the test results. So how could this have happened? One veterinarian says that he has the answer, he states that the horses were struck by lightning. Could this be possible? I guess so, they may not have all been killed by the same bolt but it is possible to have multiple strikes in the same area. Well here we go again. Scientists in Russia are predicting that the asteroid, 2004 MN4, could impact the Earth in the year 2035. Again this would be a killer impact that would wipe all life from the planet. They also suggested that if the ocean was hit by this giant, huge tsunamis would devastate the Earth. Boy you just can't win, can you? So how big is this giant, it is only 500 meters across. When you Compare it to the Earth, it is like a small piece of fruit compared to something 185 feet wide. My calculations could be wrong but to me it seems that the Earth is roughly 1,109,468 meters in diameter, yet this asteroid, which is infinitely smaller, poses a real danger. It makes you wonder how many times life has been wiped out on this planet? We can all have hope in the fact that no one has been right yet with these predictions. You have to remember that an inch off at the start of approach may equal many hundreds or thousands of miles off at the location of Earth. Maybe someday there will be a new profession, destroying dangerous asteroids by sending them into the outer solar system or just blowing them up into harmless pieces. BBC ran a story recently about Prozac. The story told that traces of Prozac have now been found in the drinking water of Britain. People in that country are wondering what effect, if any, these trace amounts of the drug will have on their health. Experts are saying that this is happening because so many people are taking the drug. I think my reply to this would be, "then why isn't the water full of the ingredients of aspirin?". After all, isn't asprin one of the most common drugs in the world? I wonder if anyone is looking at the manufacturing methods for this drug and if they have investigated illegal dumping as well? You better not sneak into a hotel with your sweetheart in Bangladesh and pretend to be married. This is exactly what one couple did. They were caught by the police who then forced them to get married. Talk about the punishment fitting the crime. I guess we have all heard by now about the bodies of what were believed to be U.S. airmen found in a glacier. Every time I see a story like this, I think about what history might lie inside glaciers. Could there be something down really deep in some of the ancient glaciers of the Antarctic and Arctic that might revolutionize our thinking of Earth's past? Can you imagine if someday someone was drilling down really deep and they struck something and when it was brought up to the surface it turned out to be an advanced communications device or some such thing? It might prove that humans had inhabited the Earth before and were even more advanced than we are now. Russian scientists were investigating the disappearance of one of the most advanced of the ancient civilizations. They determined that a disaster had befallen the city, but that it was nothing like the usual flood, or earthquake, or even military destruction. What ever had happened to this city happened fast and didn't last more than a few seconds. The city was Mohenjo-Daro. Rocks that needed at least 1,500 degree centigrade heat to melt had melted. In the center of the city, all the structures were destroyed in such a pattern that it was completely outlined. Even the skeletons that were found were fifty times more radio active that ordinary skeletons. They could only reach one conclusion, a nuclear event had occurred in the city those thousand of years ago. This is in agreement with the great Indian legend the Mahabharata which talks about a very powerful weapon. The story describes what many today believe was a nuclear attack. We see new computer viruses all the time, but beware, you webcam owners, there is a new one that turns on your camera without you knowing it. Can you imagine your webcam is on broadcasting pictures of you doing who knows what, and these photos are going all over the internet without you even being aware of it? This is truly a fiendish virus. The moral here is always aim the webcam at the wall or unplug it when it is not in use. Do you remember the movie with Tom Hanks where he was stranded at the airport for months? It seemed such a silly proposition didn't it? Guess what? It has really happened. A poor Dutch tourist was stranded for over five months at Fortaleza airport in Brazil. So how could this happen? In his case, he didn't have the money for the airport tax even though he had a ticket, so he couldn't board the plane. When he missed the flight, his ticket expired since it was non refundable. Now he not only had no money for tax but no ticket. He slept in the airport and cleaned restaurants for money and food. He managed to save enough for the airport tax and then police negotiated on his behalf with the airlines and they gave him a ticket home. |
