When I was going through this photo I noticed something very strange. It was in the very lower right of the photo were I marked it off. There was a face staring out at me. Not only a face but even part of the left ear. This might be a trick of nature but if it is, it is a pretty good one.
The object I found in this photo really doesn't look like a rock. It almost looks like a part of something. It is very hard to tell but it has a rounded shape with a sort of cover on the top part.
This photo had a couple of unique things in it. First and foremost there was something that looked metallic in the distance, the enlargement of it is in the center pane above. It is too far away to really tell anything but it is interesting never the less. The small pyramid was sort of interesting also. Though probably just a rock, it could be some sort of relic.
I would be the first to admit that Mars is covered with rocks that have been gouged out. This is true in the Spirit area more than the Opportunity area. The rock above just struck me as curious. It almost looks like a chisel was taken to it. Some of the building rocks that were used by South American Indians had notches cut into them, so I thought I would just show this one for the heck of it. By the way the black marks at the top of the photo were caused when I increased the lighting in the photo.
Is the above object a rock or a statue?
I found this object very curious. I am not saying that I recognize it or that it isn't some weird rock but it certainly is strange looking. It looks like notches were put in on purpose on the top and maybe through the sides. Another thought, could this be the skeleton of some animal?
This is hard to see because the image was so small. This object has the look of a skull but you really have to look hard to see it. Look at the blown up portion on the right and focus on the middle. Now look at the dark circle and image it is the left eye of the skull, the rest should come into focus
The last in this series of Spirit photos shows an usual rock. I put it up because it reminded me of a bird. The reason I say this is that when you look at what would be the wing, you will see lines that may remind you of feathers. It also looks like a stylized plane.
