Here we are with a whole bunch of new technology that would allow us to travel to the planets in the solar system and yet we seem to be proceeding very slowly with actual plans to do so. First it was the excuse that a trip would take too long and a crew couldn't get along in such confined quarters for that period of time. That was overcome with the advent of the new Ion engine that would allow us to reach Mars in something like 38 or 39 days. Then it was the excuse that the radiation was too great and if a solar flare ever hit the spaceship the radiation would kill everyone. Then there was an announcement that a new type of field was invented that would block radiation and could be used to surround a spaceship. Then there was the cost factor, it was said that we can not afford this now due to the economic conditions. I have to admit that the economic conditions are bad, but could we make a profit from a trip to Mars? Apollo 11 This aspect of space exploration is never mentioned much. If one looks at what is available to us even from the Moon, we see that there are plenty of minerals and even dust that is valuable. The dust contains Helium-3. Helium-3 is very rare on Earth, but seems to be plentiful on old lunar. So how much of this stuff is on the Moon? It has been estimated that there is enough of this type of Helium to power the Earth for thousands of years. The problem is getting it back to earth, but that should not be insurmountable and for all we know it has been solved already. Remember that it is very easy to launch things off the Moon, much easier than on earth and even rail guns, which work on magnetism could be used. The tankers could then be remotely guided back using a computer program and once through the heat barrier, remote commands to land in a specific area. An ocean base would probably be the safest. Mars The problem with this is that there is no incentive for companies to do this. Look at big oil, they can just about charge anything for their product and they are rolling in big bucks. If the oil ran out I am sure that they might consider mining the Moon for fuel. The way to go would probably be for the government to set up this operation and after they got it rolling, set up bids for it. You really have to wonder why we are not out there, traveling around in space. One person I talked to stated that the real reason is that the military doesn't want private individuals and companies in space, they want it for themselves. While this could be true, it does seem that eventually they would have to give in, unless the government outlawed space travel for the rest of us. Setting up a base has also become easier. That shield that I spoke about is able to be put around a structure, giving protection not only from radiation, but tiny meteorites, such as the ones that bombard moons and planets that have a thin atmosphere or no atmosphere. I am sure that many astronauts would love to take on a mission like this. As a matter of fact I am sure that many of us would love to be the first to colonize Mars. Now that it looks like there is water on Mars this has become all the more easier. This brings up the question that I have been asking for years now. That question is have we already set up bases on the Moon and Mars and could that be the reason that we are not in a hurry for a civilian colonization program? I heard an expert state that the military is about 50 years ahead in technology from what we think that it is. I am not talking about any supposed converted UFO technology or anything like that, I am talking about good old American know how. There are an awful lot of inventions that were actually classified and this prevented the inventors for going ahead with them in the civilian sector. Some of these inventions were perfected by our military and used by them. It has been said that the United States Air Force has a formidable space program which is far in advance of anything that we see at NASA. If this is true, it could very easily mean that we are OUT THERE already and just don't know it. When the hacker Gary McKennon got into some of our not so secure computers he said that he came across classifications for officers that were connected with a space fleet. Could we have a secret fleet of spaceships and is that the reason that NASA is not pursuing manned space flight, but only giving it lip service? It could very well be. What would be the point of conducting voyages to other planets using inferior technology, if we have already gone there using better machines? The only purpose would be to delude us into thinking that this was all we had. The big question is do other countries know we have such a fleet, if we do? It seems that Russia does as I stated in a different article, a Russian general actually stated that they had lost the race in fighter planes because we had a space plane F-117 Nighthawk Will we turn on our televisions one day and see a special announcement that we have had a base on the Moon for the last ten years or more? Remember how we found out about the stealth fighter the F-117? It suddenly appeared during the Gulf War. It had been a secret for years. The problem with most of these secrets is that they are not really secrets to other governments. As a matter of fact we are not very good at keeping secrets from the rest of the world. Look how fast the Soviets found out how we made the atom and hydrogen bombs. Most of the secrets we have seem to only be secret to the people living in this country. The stealth fighter was probably known about way before it was ever used. |
