Here we are worrying about how we are going to supply power to a factories and households as the price of energy soars. Over the years I have discussed many different sources of energy and all of them have been practically free when you discount the cost of building the equipment. I have also stated from time to time, that many new discoveries have been put on the back burner, bought over or shelved. All one has to do is go to one of the many thousands of conspiracy websites on the Internet to see that there are quite a few people out there that believe that the huge oil companies are holding us back from using inventions to produce energy cheaply or freely, that already exist. Do we really have to go to conspiracy websites just to find this out? The truth is that the facts are right in front of our faces. When we look at what some other countries have already done in this area, how can we ignore the fact that this country with many of the same resources as the other countries have, has done practically nothing? It certainly isn't because there are people that are against cheap energy, you never hear anybody coming out and saying that to you? There is an old saying that states "actions speak louder than words". Keeping this saying in mind and viewing events that have taken place even in the last 10 years, one can only come to the conclusion that we are purposely being slowed down in our drive for free or cheap energy.

I have spoken in the past about all sorts of alternative energy that is available to us. I've talked about wave power, wind power, solar power, thermal power, nuclear fusion, hydrogen from water, oil from coal and many other sources of energy, even fuel cells. What I haven't talked about is a brand-new type of energy generating system. The thing about it is that the principle behind it is not new, it has been around now for quite some time, but this is the first time that I know of, that it has been applied to the generation of energy and you know what, it could completely supply all of our energy needs extremely cheaply and its life span is said to be 500 years with very little maintenance. No I am not talking about some secret technology that was obtained from a flying saucer or any such thing like that. Actually the technology is not secret at all and anyone can use it. So this begs the question, why is it that no one has tried this before and how long have we known about it?

Okay I have kept you in the dark long enough. I am talking about a MagLev wind turbine. In case you don't know what MagLev is, the easiest way to explain it is by telling you that it is simply magnets that are used to levitate something slightly above the ground. This is the same technology that is used in some of the bullet trains. Those are trains that can reach speeds of several hundred miles an hour. There are usually permanent magnets built onto a rail and magnets built on to the bottom of the rail cars. We all know that if you reverse polarity on magnets they will push each other away. That is the principle that is used here. A very simple explanation is that the magnets in the rail car will push away from the magnets in the track, which levitates the rail car and does away with the friction generated by wheels on steel tracks. Getting back to our turbine, it would be a large structure with a base that was levitated by magnets and it would turn very easily even in winds as low as 1 1/2 meters per second. Think of something that would look like a traditional lampshade with slats all-around. That is sort of the shape of one of these generators. When the wind reaches 40 meters per second these machines can still operate, unlike conventional wind turbines.

Here is the good thing about the MagLev Wind Generator, it does not need electricity to power the magnets since permanent magnets can be used. There is no loss of energy as the turbine turns, because there is no friction since there are no wheels or gears. The turbine itself is 50% cheaper to run than traditional wind turbines which are very cheap. One MagLev wind turbine can power a staggering 750,000 homes. No this is not a mistake, the reason for this is that the output of one MagLev wind turbine is about a thousand times the output of any other wind turbine made. One of the great things about MagLev wind turbines is that they are able to be scaled up to a gigantic size. One MagLev turbine that cost $53 million is able to replace a thousand traditional wind turbines, thus saving substantial amounts of money right off the bat. The Chinese are building a factory to manufacture these things and in the United States it seems that we may actually install some of them. I don't know if we will drag our feet or we will start by building really large MagLev turbines that will actually power cities. I am sure that if we do this, it will certainly be very upsetting to the large oil companies.

I guess I should know better than counting out the oil companies, because it is just possible that what they may do is buy the technology to make it very expensive for us to use, thus destroying all incentive to build one of these babies. I certainly hope that this does not happen, because here we finally have a chance not only to generate cheap energy for everyone, which will drive down all our manufacturing costs, but it will also help to clean up the environment. Since there is no fuel being used to generate electricity, there are no exhausts. This is the way that electricity was meant to be generated, it is electrical generation in its purest form. Even in areas of this country where there may not be enough wind to power one of these, they can still take advantage of the MagLev wind turbine. The reason for that is that since these machines have such a huge capacity for generating electricity, all we have to do is put enough of them in a windy area and we could generate enough electricity for the whole United States and transmit to those areas that need it. We mustn't forget that we still have other cheap means of generating electricity also, such as water generation, so those places that are generating electricity by waterpower can still continue to do so and maybe the MagLev technology can be applied to that type of generation also.

I can't help but think that maybe this could be taken even a step further. If we build a huge structure like this, why couldn't we cover it with solar cells that would also provide electricity at times, when there is either too much wind or not enough wind? I realize that this would increase the cost of electricity, but when you consider the fact that the machine would still be generating when the winds are not satisfactory, this might make up the additional cost. I wonder if any of our current nuclear power generating plants are located in areas that have sufficient winds to power a MagLev wind turbine? If they are, they should be taken down immediately and replaced with one of these new devices or even several of them. Not only that, we should offer to share this technology with the entire world on the condition that they do away with their nuclear generating power plants and then hopefully we can end the problem of having to store nuclear waste materials that are the byproducts of nuclear power generation plants. This would also help with the problem of countries making bombs from nuclear material. As we all know, these countries all use the excuse that they need nuclear plants to generate electricity when really what they want to do is create nuclear material for bombs.

We are on the verge of getting a new chance at life on this planet, we have to take advantage of it and the only way that we can do that is to install MagLev wind turbines and spread the technology to the other countries of the world. It is time to put the pressure on our representatives in government to do just that.
