X-Ray Vision
Graphics Source: Clipart.com X-Ray vision, does it really exist? I remember when I was a kid, you could find a pair of x-ray glasses advertised in the back of your favorite comic book. Supposedly these glasses would allow you to look through skin, clothes, walls and almost anything else. No, they didn't work, but every kid wanted a pair. But this is not what I am talking about here. Supposedly there are people on this earth that have x-ray vision and can look through things, or so they claim. In Moscow, a sixteen year old girl was found that can see people's internal organs without the aid of any machines. This has been confirmed by medical personnel at a Moscow hospital. This in itself is a very strange thing, but the story gets even stranger. She has used her ability to find several misdiagnosed patients in the hospital. Could it be that her ability is more finely honed than that of the machines that were used to make the diagnosis in the first place. It has been stated that she not only has this ability, but that she has dual vision, allowing her to see normally until her x-ray vision is called upon. Let me clarify what I mean when I say x-ray vision, I am not talking about actual x-rays, but the ability to see through things using an unknown process. In the beginning her ability was doubted so a clinic ran a series of tests to see if she really could do what she claimed. To the amazement of all involved, she passed the test with flying colors. Her mother was asked if she noticed anything unusual about her daughter when she was growing up? She replied that in most respects the girl seemed very normal but there were a few unusual things about her. She began to talk at the tender age of only six months and didn't seem to need any warm clothing when she was out in the freezing cold winter weather. She also learned things very fast, too fast for someone her age. An example of this was her mastery of driving a snowmobile at three years old. The girl didn't seem to have any special vision until she had surgery. The surgery was only to have her appendix removed, it wasn't eye or brain surgery and yet she was in such distress after the operation she couldn't move. It was found that the doctors that performed the surgery had left tampons in the girls intestines. Wow great doctors! When they removed the tampons it seemed that the incredible secondary vision began. One day at home, within a month of her returning, she told her mother she could see inside her. The girl has now become famous in her area and many people are coming to her every day for a viewing, even doctors sometimes show up. Has nature endowed this child with super vision? It could very well be. This world contains many strange things and many strange people. I guess as the population increases we will see even more strange people and some of them may have some strange abilities. It stands to reason that if you have 4, 6, 8 billion people or more, the chances of some having a little known ability increases. The little girl I talked about was not the only one to possess x-ray vision, although it was not the same type as this next case. A Canadian man developed a similar ability in 1940. As with the girl, this man's super vision seemed to start after visiting the doctor. Its a funny thing,I have been to the doctor hundreds of times and haven't even developed the smallest ability to do anything out of the ordinary. The Canadian gentleman was experiencing pains in his lower ribs and when he couldn't stand the pain any longer he was convinced that he needed a doctor. He wasn't found to have have any physical problems so the doctor gave him sleeping pills. After a few months he noticed that he had the ability to "see" into the ground. It is not clear whether he could actually see what was beneath him or sensed it. Either way he knew what was under him because he formed a picture of it in his head. How did anyone know that he was right? Well he had stated that he could see water beneath him while he was on a farm and a well was sunk exactly where he said the water was and he was right. He had also predicted the depth and only missed by one foot. This was only the beginning. Word spread quickly as it always seems to when people display strange talents and everyone in the area wanted him to find water for them. He successfully "saw" over 600 locations of water in a row. When the wells were dug, water was struck. Surely no one can say that this was a coincidence? What are the odds of predicting anything 600 times in a row, they must be astronomical? When the Canadian government began to notice him he was tested by government scientists. The scientists discovered that the electrical charge going through his skin was not the norm. Throughout his explorations he gained a reputation for never being wrong. Here is the sixty four million dollar question, can something given to you or done to you, alter you in such a way that you might gain powers that ordinary people don't have? Well the two cases we talked about here both seemed to stem from something that was altered in their brains or body. The truth of the matter is that no one really understands these types of things yet. If we take the second case first, we know that the Canadian man had an unusual charge to his skin. Whether this was relative to his powers or not, can not be proven either way, but the good part about writing an article is that I can assume things. Maybe this man somehow developed some sort of chemical imbalance that allowed him to "see" with his skin. I am thinking that maybe his body acted as some sort of radar antenna. As for the Russian girl, maybe the tampons somehow caused some sort of a reaction that mutated some of the cells in her cornea giving her this strange new ability for x-ray vision. All this makes you wonder how many people are out there that have special abilities but don't want anyone to know about them? Who can blame them? No one wants to be examined and tested, poked and prodded. |
