There are many strange things out there in the night. Some of the things that are reported by people would make the hair on the back of your neck stand on edge. There are sightings that range from aliens to deceased relatives. Night time seems to be when most of these things are sighted, not daytime. It also seems that the creepier the place, the more chance of sightings these things. A misty swamp is always good for this. Woods are good, mountains also.

But sightings can even be in one's own home. Take the following case:

We will call this couple Dick and Jane (not their real names). For years they claim to have been hounded by a poltergeist. They live together but are not married. They claim that they are subject to objects flying all over the house. When they go into the car the same things happen. It is said that there is a type of ghost that follows certain people where ever they go as opposed to the type that remain in the home. They get phone calls from it, it calls their names out in the house, they hear footsteps and no one is there. Objects were even taken from the home by the ghost and they reappeared at a friend's home who lives thousands of miles away. The topper is they both were together one day when they saw a ufo and it followed them. Could this ghost be something else, something more extraterrestrial in nature? Your guess is as good as mine.

There are also sightings in areas that you least expect it, like Long Island, in New York.

From 1900 to about 1930 there were many reports of a crazed individual in the Mount Misery area of Long Island, New York. Travelers had disappeared in the area, from time to time, and it was reported that the crazy man that was sighted was carrying a basket and it was full of heads, human heads. The man was never captured and the irony of this story was that an insane asylum had existed in this area a long time before, but had burned down in a suspicious fire. There have also been sightings reported of a sort of flying monster with red eyes. Was this the famous Mothman?

The place was Mineral Point in Wisconsin. It was 1981 and the police were patrolling and passed a cemetery. There the policeman saw a very large man? in a cape that he could only describe as looking like a vampire. The policeman got out of the car and began to walk toward the man but he began to run at a great speed. A speed that seemed to be beyond human speed. The cop gave chase but as the man distanced himself further away he jumped over a barbed wire fence that was at least 4 feet high. The policeman had to give up. Was this an ordinary human that the policeman was chasing?

For those of you that don't know what a Chupacabra is, it is an animal that is unknown by science, but which has been reported in Puerto Rico and Mexico. It sucks blood from other animals especially goats, as a matter of fact it is often called a goat sucker. It has never been proven to exist. A lady in Texas awoke to the awful sight of an animal with red eyes that was about three feet tall, coming down the main street. She was terrified. She believed that she was seeing a Chupacabra. Apparently this creature had attacked a man later on. It didn't kill him but his wounds were so strange that he didn't want anyone to know, even the authorities for fear that might think they were self inflicted and put him into a mental institution.

Not all that is strange and seen is even on the Earth.

Things have been seen on the Moon that defy examination. I am not talking about the usual stuff like reflections in helmets or supposed towers or walls, I am talking about observations in telescopes that show something traveling across the face of the Moon. No one is able to explain this. It seemed to be gigantic, so the theory was put forth that maybe a satellite orbiting the Earth passed in front of the telescope, but this was shown not to have been possible because the outcome, photographically speaking, would have been different.

But back to our own backyard.

The year was 2002. The area was a road in England. A woman was seen waiting by a bus stop near the road. The driver of a passing auto slowed down to see if the lady needed a ride. As he got closer to her he noticed that her face was very pale. Just then she jumped in front of the car. He slammed on the brakes thinking that he hit her, but when he got out of the car, no one was there.

In 1902, Virginia had a famous ghost called the woman in black. Lots of people had seen her. On one particular night, over 25 people sighted her and they were all frozen with fear. But who was she and what was she doing? It was said that when she was married her husband cheated on her and now she was making it her death's work to stop other husbands from cheating. It is said that 2 men decided to capture her and came at her from both sides but she just disappeared into thin air before they could reach her.

People are seeing mysterious things all the time. It makes you wonder what is going on in this world. There sure seems to be more here than meets the eye. (trite saying but quite useful). Is there much more to this world than we are aware of? Maybe.
