When we talk of mysterious things, nothing could be more mysterious than the life and times of Michael Jackson. In a way he was created. Everything I have read seems to indicate that his early family life left an awful lot to be desired and may have scarred him for life. I can't verify what I am about to say, but I had heard that he left his father nothing in his will, as of the time of this writing. Was he leading the life of someone who had a terrible childhood and was trying to make up for it? I can't be sure, but the indications were there. Some felt that he was up to no good when he invited children to stay over, but I would like to put forth another reason why he might have done this. That reason is that he never enjoyed his childhood and was trying to relive it. As far as the conspiracy theories go, such as the ones that I have been seeing that state someone killed Jackson, I doubt that seriously. Unfortunately Jackson was the recipient of so many drugs (legal) that I am not surprised that he died.

Mexico has vowed that it will continue to look for a mysterious missing island off of its coast. Why all the interest in this? It seems that if the island is found, it will extend Mexico's off shore oil claims and we all know how much oil is worth. It seems that if you look at a map and try and plot the way to this island, you will find that it isn't there. Is this a mistake by the map makers, or has the island disappeared. How many times have you ever heard of a modern map containing an island that didn't exist? I wonder what Google Earth would show for this location? I don't have the coordinates so I can't find out. The island is said to lie beyond the 200 mile limit. It has to make one wonder, could the maps be wrong on purpose? Is there some reason that someone or a group of people want the island to remain hidden? It has also been stated that the island might have sunk or been submerged.

One poor guy, the drummer for My Chemical Romance decided his dog, who he claimed was the best thing in his life, be sent for training to a famous dog trainer that supposedly many stars use. He said he sent the dog and paid 7,500 dollars, only to have his dog's ashes returned to him. When he tried to find out what happened to the dog he was told that the trainer was transporting a group of dogs and his vehicle was hit by a drunk driver and this dog didn't make it. The drummer said that no police report was ever produced. While this is what I call a low caliber mystery, it is still interesting. Many questions remain about what happened and why the dog died. A lawsuit against the trainer is pending.

Residents of a town in Malaysia are terrified. They are reporting that for the last month they have seen a headless body dressed in white. The body is said to appear around midnight and it makes noises like a crying baby. They go on to say that some of the houses in the area have iron gates and the spirit shakes them violently. It was also reported that it would knock on doors and when they were opened it would bite the hands of the occupants. Now I am not one to knock reports, but for the life of me I can not figure out how a headless body can bite someone, can you?

Sonic buoys have been placed in over 60 different areas in Idaho. They range from the Kootenay Lake to the Montana border. They are said to monitor individual fish that have been tagged. When ever you hear of things like this, you just have to wonder if they serve another purpose? It is said that a tagged fish leaves data when he passes by that shows the time, date and number of the fish. Scientists say that, “The tracking system is just part of the effort to solve the fundamental problem of why the river's wild sturgeon population has been dwindling for years.” When systems like this go into effect people begin to wonder if they weren't put in for some other reason. Without knowing the range of the buoys or tags it would be hard to say. Could the buoys be sensitive enough to track people if they also had a radio receiver in them?

Not many are aware of the riots in China. It seems that a young man was staying in a hotel in China's Hubei province and supposedly fell to his death out of a third floor window. That is when the riots started. The authorities wanted to take the body away and people tried to prevent it. The ranks of the protesters were said to have swelled to over 70,000 people. The case was reported as being believed to be a case of corruption, torture and murder. The authorities issued a statement which read, “Around 3 p.m. on June 20 a Public Security Office statement was released on the official Web site of Shishou City that says the corpse of a man was discovered in front of the entrance of the local Yonglong Grand Hotel on June 17.” It turned out that the dead man was the chief in the hotel. The officials went on to say that he left a suicide note. They also went on to say they saw no other fatal wounds on the body, so murder has been ruled out. Apparently there are at least 70,000 people that feel different about the case.

A mysterious fungus is attacking the U.S. bat population. Scientists are worried that it will spread nationwide and become the biggest threat to wildlife in this country in over 100 years. The disease is known as white nose syndrome. Caves have been found where all the bats have died from the disease. Why are scientists so worried about our bats? The reason is simple, bats eat insects. These insects destroy crops and if the bats die, the crops will be in serious danger. The first instance of the disease was discovered in a cave in New York. Some types of bats have small populations like Big Eared bats. Their numbers are believed to be only 20,000 and the disease could easily wipe the species out completely. One Congressmen has stated, "The severe mortality and sudden spread of white nose syndrome demonstrates the need for a rapid response beyond closing caves where bats live, (it) could be an ecological and economic disaster if it remains unchecked."

When nuclear scientists disappear, people get worried. Lokarathan Mahalingam disappeared from Bangalore and his family and colleagues are worried and baffled. He went for his morning jog on June 8, 2009 and never returned. Authorities are extremely worried, but sources say that he was not privy to classified information. It is said that his wife didn't report his disappearance for two full days. Authorities are now suspecting kidnapping. Mahalingam was a lecturer in the simulated training department at Kaiga. Another question was could there have been a family dispute? Hopefully the case will break.

A tablet was found at Jamestown, Virginia. Jamestown was the site of the first English settlement in the United States. The tablet dates back over 400 years and contains words, numbers and etchings of people, plants and birds from the time of the founding of the settlement. The tablet was found near the first well at James Fort, which was dug in the early 1600s by Captain John Smith. The well had fouled by 1611 and was used as a trash pit after that. Sometimes slate tablets were used in England because paper was so expensive. Scientists are trying to decipher the meaning of the tablet. Could it have simply been a child's drawing board?

Clouds

What is causing the increase in noctilucent clouds? "Noctilucent, or night-shining, clouds float dozens of kilometers higher than other clouds, at an altitude of about 80 km. Because of their height, they can be seen glowing before sunrise or after sunset, as the sun illuminates them from below the horizon.” There seems to be more of them than ever before. Scientists think that they are somehow tied in with the sun's cycles of solar activity.
