Unexplained Powers

Do some of us possess the ability to do things that seem impossible to the rest of us? Could it be that evolution is just a little more evolved in a very few of us? If this were the case, would that be as strange as the notion first appears? Could a few of us have a gene or some other part of a past race that makes us just a little bit different and could that difference allow us to do things that are truly amazing? Most of the people we see doing amazing things are just tricksters, we all know that. Amazing is the keyword of the Magic trade and magicians are everywhere. There are some that are very good ones, but most of them just perform the tried and true tricks that anyone can buy if they have a few bucks. Yes buy! Magic tricks are for sale just like anything else and if one doesn't believe this he just has to go to New York City, where one of the most famous magic shops is located. It employs magicians to demonstrate any trick you are thinking of buying. You can buy the 'saw the lady in half' trick for a few thousand dollars or the disappearing quarter trick for a lot less, but are there things that come along that can't be explained or purchased?

Some say that some of the tricks of Chris Angel just can't be explained. I don't know how many of you have ever seen him, but he walks through the street and elevates himself in front of crowds, walks across swimming pools while people are swimming under and around him him and does various card tricks that have to make one wonder. A few people claim to have figured out how this is done. Most of them say that it is all done with editing video tape, but this doesn't explain how the live crowd can see it. OK I am going to bust this bubble. I truly know how he does it, at least I know how he does the levitation. It is very simple really, as all good tricks are. His pants have a false shoe attached and are constructed in such a way the he can take his stocking foot out of the pants and put it in front of him and from the back it still looks like he is standing on the sidewalk with two legs. He then slowly takes the exposed foot and steps up on a railing or stone or even a curb and from the back it looks like he is levitating. You all now know how the trick was done. This doesn't explain the trick of floating in thin air, sometimes as high as 60 feet. Does Chris Angel have special powers, nah, he is just a great magician.

What about those people that walk on hot coals and don't get burnt? That is an entirely different ball game. People have been trying to explain this for thousands of years and you know what? No one, to my knowledge, has given a satisfactory explanation. There are cases on record of some Indian holy men gathering crowds of thousands of believers and having them all cross the burning coals in their bare feet without being burned. Recently I saw a case where about three thousand people walked on hot coals in their bare feet. A few got burned in this instance, I think it was about 3, but this is still not only incredible, but unbelievable. Just thinking about doing this seems to be a very foolish move. I think that examining the feet of the people in these areas and comparing them to our feet might yield an answer, but who knows, it just might be a case of believing?

A feat that ranks right up there with the feat of walking on hot coals without being burned is the puncturing of the body with large metal and bone items. In a religious ceremony some people run large stakes through their noses, chest, arms and legs and yet, amazingly, there seems to be no pain and there is no bleeding. Why doesn't blood come from these wounds? Again this is a hard question to answer. Maybe, these people have something in their diet that prevents bleeding. It is said that they do nothing to themselves before the piercing to help promote healing or anything else of that nature. Since they usually exhibit no pain that creates another mystery. I think that most of us would think twice before shoving a large nail or bone through our noses. Could it be that they whip themselves up into such a religious frenzy that pain is dulled? The mind is a funny thing and as we know, anything is possible.

Not all unexplained powers have to do with humans. Sometimes before a large quake, flood or severe storm, many of the animals will head for safer surroundings. Before the tsunami hit, the elephants headed for high ground. How did they know that a disaster was coming? It seems that some animals have powers beyond our own. These elephants demonstrated that not only did they realize that something terrible was headed their way, but that it involved flooding and they had to get to a higher elevation to avoid being drowned.
When you think about this, it is quite remarkable. Do some animals such as elephants have some sort of physic power that we are not aware of? It is said that some dogs and cats can anticipate their owners leaving for trips and returning. I know that when I went on my last trip my dog seemed very unhappy for a few days before I left. Maybe it had nothing to do with physic powers at all, maybe he knew enough of the language to figure out we were leaving by listening to us talk? Over 50% of dog owners have reported that they have seen their dogs waiting at the door at least 10 minutes before someone in the family came home. It was as if they anticipated the family member's return. Does this mean anything or is it just a coincidence?

Do we have untapped powers? Let me ask you this question, have you ever felt like someone was staring at you while you had your back turned to them? Did you ever feel like you knew it was going to rain and it did? How about this one, did you ever feel like you knew what someone was going to say before they said it or even that you were familiar with a place that you knew you had never been to before? These may all be indications that we have powers that we are not fully aware of yet. Maybe with the proper training we could unlock these powers and become much more than we are now? Who really knows, but it would be interesting to find out.
