Mother Earth

Man, What's The Story?

The accepted theory of modern man's appearance on Earth is that he appeared while Neanderthal was still inhabiting this planet and had been doing so for hundreds of thousands of years. Most scientists say that man came from evolution and was formerly an ape. If anyone dares to disagree with this hypothesis then they are laughed at. I can't help but wonder why Neanderthals, who were said to have lived for so long, never evolved? I mean, if evolution was taking place everywhere, why didn't it happen to them? We know that they were around for over 300,000 years and perhaps more? Actually these guys and gals were far better suited to the harsh life of a caveman than we who came along later. If anything, you would have thought that they would have out survived us. Originally it was thought that Neanderthals were just big dumb brutes without language skills, but this has been proven wrong. Recent research has shown that they were just as capable of speaking as we are. We have also found evidence of tool making and jewelry making, putting our muscular cousins on a plateau with the early us.

How does a race that existed so long just disappear in a mere thousand years or so, just at the time that were known to have appeared? This is a true mystery. Some scientists have said that humans and Neanderthals interbred and that is why they disappeared. First of all this seems like a ridiculous notion to me since science has found no indication of any Neanderthal DNA involved with human DNA. .Secondly what would the results have been of a modern human and Neanderthal pregnancy? Might not this have watered down a modern human or brought up the Neanderthal? When you think about this it just doesn't seem to make scientific sense. If this were true then we wouldn't be exactly like those human ancestors of ours, we would be a little more Neanderthal. Looking at this picture, one cannot help but wonder how does an entire race disappeared so fast? We know that disease is capable of wiping out large populations, we also know that humans can be pretty hateful at times and in more savage days like those of the prehistoric era they may even have hunted Neanderthals and killed them. Perhaps it was a combination of both, maybe the Neanderthals was decimated by disease and the few that were left were killed on sight by humans, who knows?

The case of the Neanderthal is a very intriguing one. Can you imagine that at one time there were actually two different races of man living on this planet? There are some theories about this out there, one of them states that they were taken away and transplanted somewhere else. Who would've been capable of doing such a thing and why? While there are several different theories about that I know of and I will tell you about them. The first theory states that humans, modern humans that is, came before the Neanderthals and became very advanced. They lived inside the earth. Supposedly they became so advanced that they had space travel and for some reason they decided that some of their numbers were going to move out from the center of the earth onto the earth's crust. They didn't want the competition from the Neanderthals, but didn't want to hurt them either, so they began transporting them to somewhere else. A tragedy struck that race and there were almost wiped out leaving only the few that had moved on to the earth's surface and these few gradually lost their technology and became us. The second theory of this nature states that the Neanderthals were either transported somewhere else or wiped out by an interstellar race that wanted modern man, for some reason, to be the dominant force on earth. Lastly is the theory that I like the best because it is so neat and fits some of the things going on now. Extraterrestrials have been accused of studying the reproductive systems of abductees. The theory states that the Neanderthals were all treated with a sterility drug, maybe by aerosol spray and it took about 1,000 years before the last birth and they became wiped out. So there you have the theories that I have heard. The sterility theory is such a simple solution that you can't help but wonder if there could be any truth to it. The thing about this is, it eliminates the competition between the two races by taking one races numbers down until they disappear and it doesn't cause any physical pain to them. It does raise some questions however. If that is what happened, could it happen again? According to some scientists we are beginning to produce a race of humans that are far more advanced. If this is true and their numbers begin to increase, will some cosmic power come along and sterilize us so that they have no competition?

I don't think that any self-respecting archaeologist would subscribe to any of the theories that I just mentioned, but I wanted to tell you about them because they exist, not because I necessarily think that they are true. I guess it would be interesting to know why Neanderthals were alive on earth at the time that modern humans appeared? I guess this is one question we will never know the answer to. Some scientists state that Neanderthals were less able to adopt to fighting certain diseases. I can't help but laugh at this one, since they were able to exist for so many hundreds of thousands of years. It just may turn out that modern humans will never be able to equal that record. By the way, when I say archaeologists I absolutely have to include anthropologists in this discussion. There is another theory out there, it does sound a little strange but bear with me. This theory states that modern man came from Mars. He landed here from the red planet in sparse numbers, but he brought with him a potent disease that wiped out the Neanderthals, leaving him in charge of the planet. It does not necessarily state that he did it on purpose, only that it happened. A lot of people believe that there are ruins on Mars and that this would substantiate the existence of advanced life there at one time. They even take this a step further stating that Mars was very similar to Earth at one time, but the inhabitants became so advanced that they polluted their atmosphere and caused global warming and then some of them moved here. One cannot help but notice that if we continue to stay on the same course that we are on, the earth will become much like Mars is now.

Looking at the big picture, it does certainly seem that we were dropped in on this planet, so to speak. The Neanderthals were happily going their way for hundreds of thousands of years without a spark of progress, it seems. Maybe they were being watched and their lack of progress noted. Can't you just see some cosmic overseer saying to one of his colleagues, "We have given them over 300,000 years and they have gotten nowhere."? Maybe the Neanderthals were a failed experiment. Could it be that even they were planted here and given hundreds of thousands of years to develop, but just never made it? We think that we are developing fast, but what if we are not meeting some criteria that we don't even know exists? Maybe we are getting advanced enough but are too war like. What if a race is considered successful when they reach some point and we just don't get there? This is a very intriguing question folks. Could it be that there is some sort of league of planets up there and they are seeding the galaxy or even the universe because it is a lot more barren than we expect? Maybe what they expect from new races is intelligence and peacefulness. We could be in a lot of trouble with that one.

We look at our planet as a young planet, but recent studies by some scientists have suggested that we might be off in our age determinations by a factor of at least 4. If this is true that would make the Earth somewhere around 20 billion years old. Think of how many races could have existed here in that time. Since our planet is an active one geologically, any race that is too ancient would not be able to leave any evidence behind because it would be destroyed. How would we ever know if any really ancient races existed before us? When fossils are found that might go back near the 4 billion year mark, we think that we have found the beginning of life here, but what if that isn't true? What if life was destroyed and then started again and what if that repeated itself several times? No my friends, we just don't know enough, even though some think that they know a lot more than they really do.
