Graphics Source: Clipart.com I have always been interested in facts. I guess you could say that facts are one of my weaknesses. Besides facts, I find many other things interesting. I thought for a change I would talk about a few things that I have found over the last few months, or maybe longer, that interested me but didn't contain enough material to write an article about. I often find things that fall into this category. One thing that I found out was that one of the most famous restaurants in Paris, L Auberge Nicolas Flamel, is in what was one of the oldest houses in Paris. This is not old as we understand it in this country, it is old in the European sense, dating back to the 1300s. It was a stone house that was built in the 14th century when all the other houses were made of wood. What makes it even more interesting is the fact that Nicolas Flamel, a legendary alchemist, lived there. All the symbols are still on the walls and the original oak beams still have their carvings. I came across a photo of a bridge in Germany that was quite unusual. What, you think that one bridge is the same as another? You would be so wrong with this one. From the side and without traffic it looks like an ordinary bridge but then you notice it is connecting two bodies of water. Wait a second, ships are sailing across it. This is a bridge that holds water so ships can sail across to two high bodies of water. The bridge is the channel bridge over the River Elbe and joins the former East Germany and West Germany You will find it in the city of Magdenburg. Another strange thing that I have come across recently is almost unbelievable. An animal preserve that specializes in restoring animals that have been hurt, took an X-Ray of a duck and was shocked at what they found. Inside the duck's stomach was a perfectly formed small head of what is commonly known as a gray. A gray is a type of Alien that is associated with flying saucers. When the unfortunate duck died a few days later, an operation was performed on the duck's stomach but nothing was found. This has to be seen to be believed. You can see the X-Ray at http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/06/01/alien_duck/ Just copy the link and paste it into your browser's address bar. I can't show the photo because it is copyrighted. Work on the pyramid that was found in Bosnia is really coming along. Every shovel full of dirt is revealing more evidence of what it looks like. Steps have begun to be uncovered and a satellite photo confirms that the pyramid does indeed exist. A two headed cow was born in 1979 on a farm near Three Mile Island, the infamous nunclear plant that had a leak. The calf was still born and births of sheep at the farm became problematic because they could not dilate to deliver their lambs, then the farmer died of thyroid cancer. The farm was located between 4.5 and 5 miles from the plant. Other farms in the area had similar problems. I found an interesting fact about World War II. It was about how popular some products can be. The US Army landed in North Africa. The strange fact was that they were said to have brought with them three complete Coca Cola bottling plants. I guess these guys really liked their coke. There has been some talk of a pyramid in Antarctica. It has been dismissed as pure drivel, but that was before a pyramid was discovered in Bosnia of all places. The poles were not always places that were covered with ice. The age of man and the first signs of life on earth keeps getting pushed back earlier and earlier. It might just be possible that man is a lot older than first thought and also that the regions that are now our poles might have been inhabited at one time. Another thing I have been wondering about is why we are not hearing as much about Mars anymore? The info we are now getting is less than a trickle of what it was. Could it be that there is nothing else to tell us? Reams of data are continuously being relayed here from the red planet so you would think there must be something new. I guess that Mars is not news worthy any more. There was a time when it's exploration would have been on the front page. Who or what really killed the dinosaurs. Some say that it wasn't a killer meteor or eruptions that spewed millions of tons of dirt into the atmosphere cutting off all light and killing the food the dinos ate, they say it was aliens making way for our form of life. Others say that man was already on the planet and decided there was not enough room for the dinosaurs and himself. These are not popular theories and I think that you would be laughed at if you expressed them to your co workers but they are out there.
