Wearing Out

Einstein became famous for his theory of relativity. We all know about that one. E=mc2. It's kind of hard to show squared so I just used mc2. You would think that this is one of the great truths in our universe and that the chances of another earth shattering formula are truly rare? Having said that, I have a formula that is almost indisputable. It is very simple and states OxT=0. I have thought about this a lot and for the life of me I can't find anything that really contradicts it. Are you still wondering what the heck I am talking about? It is quite simple, stated in terms easy to understand it means that EVERYTHING wears out. More precisely O the object, multiplied by T time = 0 nothing.

Eroded

Hey folks, even the universe is disintegrating. People used to think that the galaxies, which were racing away from each other, would someday come back together, form a giant blob of matter and explode again causing another big bang. Today many scientists don't believe this anymore. Why has their minds changed? They don't feel that there is enough matter in the universe to slow down the expansion between the galaxies and as a matter of fact, the expansion seems to be speeding up. It is beginning to look like some day in the very distant future, these galaxies and maybe even their solar systems will be so far apart from each other that each one will be a lonely oasis in a sea of dark space. Their suns will have died by then taking many of their planets with them. Even at this point, any bodies that are left will be slowly eroding. Is it possible that the entire universe will have no bodies in it at some time in the future? It certainly is a possibility.

In ancient times, cities of stone with huge stone walls were built. The builders must have thought that these cities would last forever, after all, they were built of, what was considered, an indestructible material. Where are many of these cities today? They are gone, worn out from natural disasters, wars or just plain left to rot. Even the staunchest structure will require maintenance over time. Just look at some of the ruins of cities that have been found. Some of them show many repairs to walls and buildings. Yep, this is a case of OxT=0. If you leave the O alone long enough it will equal 0.

Most scientists believe that energy goes on forever. While this may be true, most if not all of the energy will not be noticeable to us and therefore it will seem to us that nothing is there. I would like to take this a step further, I believe that this can never be know for sure until we have reached that point that is forever and look for the energy. Obviously we can never reach that point so how can we ever really know that the theory of energy lasting forever is true?

Worn

We buy a nice new car and it feels great. Ten years later it might be a piece of junk. If we didn't take care of it, it might not even last ten years. Appliances burn out and become too expensive to repair. Even our homes need constant repair. While a home might look like it could last forever, we have to remember that it is always under repair and at some point, every part of it will have been replaced. It may not happen for hundreds of years, but it is inevitable. The earth itself is forever changing and the processes on earth erode the earth. Natural disasters destroy not only what we have built but maybe parts of the earth itself. Even the entire planet will some day be gone when the sun wears out and expands into a red giant devouring the very planet that we live on. Don't worry about this yet, we still have plenty of time.

You can see where rivers used to flow, they wore out the land under them. Look at the Grand Canyon and you can see how the water just cut through and down. The water then wore out and either evaporated, or flowed into the earth. Have you ever noticed that there doesn't seem to be any rocks that date back to the beginning of the formation of the earth? They have all worn out. Yeah we can build pyramids and giant buildings and even underground bunkers but nature will eventually triumph. Yep OxT=0.

Old

Every day our bodies wear out a little more until we reach a point where our bodies can no longer replenish themselves. This is called old age. Today scientists are trying to find the reason for aging, but the truth is that while they may be able to extend our years, they will never be able to conceive something that will allow a person to live forever. Nature will never allow it. Maybe there is a reason for all of this? Could it be that our minds couldn't handle eternal life or things being too static and unchanging?

Enjoy life as it comes, it is a gift that we should be grateful for. Remember that it is only temporary as is everything in this temporary universe around us. Certain fruits are only grown at certain times of the year, yet these fruits can be the sweetest. Never dwell on our temporary position in the universe, but always keep it in mind when you get hit with a minor crisis, it will help to keep things in perspective. Remember OxT=0.
