A daguerreotype was an early photograph. It was made on a silver or silver covered copper plate. I love old photos so I really love daguerreotypes. I have picked out some that I think are interesting and all are very old, some going back to almost the beginning of photography. Some of the subjects have been long forgotten, but I picked some photos because I found them interesting for various reasons. Left: William Allen, Ohio Senator 1837-49. Governor of Ohio 1874-76.
