Our Space Data Is Being Cut Off

There are a lot of unexplained events that take place in the atmosphere above us. Different things are constantly hitting it from outer space and many things that go on fire, or explode on their way down. Thanks to a new policy by the U.S. government, these events are now classified and they are to be kept secret from us. What kind of sense does this make and why would the government want to do this, especially now when they know that this data is need by scientists that are studying near earth objects that could hit us and trying to determine ways of saving the earth from serious damage? It is certainly hard for us as ordinary citizens to figure out the reason for this, but it probably fits into one of the following categories:
1. Some sort of secret tests being conducted by us that the government wants to keep secret from its citizens.
2. Secret atmospheric test of nuclear weapons by other nations that are to be kept from us.
3. Impending disaster from space that could destroy society if found out.
4. The government doesn't want the public to know haw sensitive their new equipment in space is.

I am not saying that I believe in things like impending disasters, but in all fairness I had to include it on the list as a possibility, however how remote. The observations that are being kept secret from us are from government satellites. I don't see where any commercial satellite information is to be kept secret. The problem here is that the scientific community has learned to rely on this government information for data, to improve it detection capabilities. All of a sudden this valuable data is being cut off. The government satellites have no commercial, or private equivalent. They are there to detect nuclear explosions and rocket launches and the study of incoming meteors and other objects is a side benefit. The scientists in the private sector have been receiving data from these types of satellites for over 15 years and have relied on it heavily. To have it suddenly cut off like this must have came as quite a shock. One scientist stated, “It’s baffling to us why this would suddenly change,...” .

Exactly what kind of data is the scientific community looking for from the government? They are interested in all of the objects that hit the earth everyday and what effect the atmosphere has on them, so that they can better predict the effects when something hits the earth and figure out how to protect us from its effects. Scientists say that usually on any given day, objects hit the earth that range in size from basketballs to small cars and that some even reach the surface of the planet, while others explode, or vaporize. The bottom line is that scientists are worried about bigger objects hitting the earth and have spent the last few years creating plans, so that they know what to do if one of these bigger objects is sighted heading this way. The key to protecting ourselves is early warning. You have to get to the object well before it gets too close to the earth. If the object turns out to be a comet heading our way, then there is nothing that we can do right now, because of the size of these objects, but large asteroids can be deflected off course, at least this is what most scientists believe.

An interesting fact is that this new secret classification by the government comes at a time when new satellites are being launched. They are a complete new generation. It is thought by some in the military that the capabilities of these new satellites are such that the military does not want anyone outside to know how good they really are. Another thought is that the military no longer has the money to collect both classified and declassified data and had to make a choice and that choice was to drop the declassified data collection. If this is the case, maybe the scientific community can get together and pay to have that data saved. It might be worth a try to approach the military and make an offer to pay for the collection and dissemination of non classified data such as meteor hits to the atmosphere.

There is also a theory that states that the U.S. government is afraid that giving this data to scientists will allow them to detect some UFO data that the government is trying to keep secret. Yes I know, UFOs are always being brought up when it comes to things that we have no answer to, but I am merely stating what some people think. They claim that the new satellites will prove conclusively that there are UFOs and the fact is being hidden from us and this will be brought about by the new capabilities of the next generation of spy satellites They think that they are so sensitive that they may be able to see cloaked ships. Many believe that thousands of UFOs are plying our atmosphere, but are cloaked so that they can not be seen.

I hope that there are not tests being conducted that might harm our atmosphere and they are going to be kept secret and that is the reason why there will be no more cooperation from the military with the civilian scientists. I can't help but think of all the things that I have heard over the years about the H.A.A.R.P. Project and how it bores through the ionosphere. If this is the case then these are experiments that should not be done. Of course I have no way of knowing if this is really what is happening or not, but many people believe that it is. I don't think that nuclear testing will be conducted in the atmosphere by any country, but I guess you can never be sure. What ever the reason is for not wanting to share data with us civilians, it is wrong. There certainly could be safeguards put in place to make sure that secrets, or capabilities do not leak out to everyone. As most of us know, whatever capabilities our satellites have, will probably be known or matched in a few years at most, so this is what I like to call a fool's errand.

Having said all of the above, I still think that some sort of agreement could be reached. Many of the old satellites could be boosted to a higher orbit to give them longer life and the scientific community can use them, if they foot the bill? This is just a thought, but is it so crazy? I know there are things on these satellites that the military wants to keep secret, so the scientists could go through a military liaison to get their data. Let's hope the madness stops and someone will see the light that has some power to change this decision.
