Interesting People That I Have Interviewed
It's funny because as I write these articles, one year seems much like the next. We seem to have all the same problems we had the year before. In the case of 2012 we still have wars going on, people short of money and no job, political parties still trying to assert their wants over the wants of the people and numerous other secrets and conspiracies. The readership on this site has gone up again thanks to you and I have managed to go another year without any advertising or financial backing. When I talk about the website I can't help but think about the contacts I have made through it and the interesting people that I have met. While I have dealt with a lot of UFO investigators, I have also met a lot of people from many other fields. Before I started this website I always had an interest in unusual things and strange news. I was also very interested in the way the government was run and politics. As years went by I realized that I was truly interested in so many more things that I couldn't keep up with them all. When the Internet came along it made keeping up with events a lot easier and put a lot of data at my fingertips. I noticed that there were a certain amount of people that liked to talk to me at work about many of the subjects that I now have on the website. This led me to start thinking about creating a website that would cover most of my interests, because I believed that there were others that had the same interest that I do. When I retired, that is just what I did. One of the first groups of people that I got to meet were UFO investigators. I am sure you have seen many of the people that I met on television. They appear in programs like “ancient aliens” and “UFO Files”. What I found were that not only were they a very educated group of people, but they were extremely friendly for the most part. Many of them had doctorates and even those that didn't were usually engineers or scientists of some kind. We had the occasional civilian that got interested in the subject for their own reasons, but even these people had a high order of intelligence. I had expected that some of these people would be what is known as “a UFO Nut”. So far I have not met any of those people that would fall into this category. As you all know I have interviewed many UFO investigators and have been very impressed by the high quality of their investigations. If we look for example at Dr. Bruce Maccabee, we find a man that was previously the head of the US Navy's laser weapons program. One thing I can guarantee and that is the United States Navy does not allow unstable people to become heads of its programs. Dr. Maccabee has become famous as an expert not only in the field of UFO investigation, but also as a photographic examiner. When people get UFO photos or videos they send them to him for authentication. I myself have asked him about a couple of photos that have appeared on the Internet and he has graciously given me his opinion. The first person that I ever interviewed was another UFO expert that I am sure you have all heard of. He was the former head of the British Defense Department's UFO branch. His name is Nick Pope. I decided at the time of this interview that I might share it with anybody that wanted it, after all Nick Pope was very famous in the UFO scene and I thought, erroneously, that some of the other famous UFO sites would like to also put up the interview. I sent it to one of the most famous UFO sites on the Internet with a note stating that I was giving them permission to post it. In those days I had created a transcription of the interviews to go along with them. Not only was the interview never posted, but not one ever replied. I guess they must have thought that this was some sort of a scam, because you usually don't see anyone making an offer like this. I was disappointed at the time and thought to myself, I will never do that again. I remember feeling very foolish at the time One of the hardest interviews to conduct had to do with air cars. Mr. Scott Robinson is an air car pioneer. Air cars are exactly what they sound like, they are cars that use air as fuel. At the time an Indian car company was said to be developing one for sale in the United States. They already had several that were running in India. What made this interview so hard to conduct was the fact that Mr. Robinson lived in a little village in the Philippines and had no access to a computer or telephone. I didn't even know if he had electricity. He also has a debilitating disease and was very self-conscious of his voice, so I made arrangements for a transcript only interview, and he made arrangements with the closest library to be able to use their phone. The interview was worth the trouble as Mr. Robinson was extremely knowledgeable about these types of cars, having been a pioneer in their development. One interview that I conducted was apparently picked up by one of those supermarket rag papers and blown completely out of context. It was an interview with Dr. Ronald Mallett PhD. The good doctor was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He told me that he was conducting experiments in time travel. These were not the type of experiments that we read about in science fiction. What he wanted to do send one atom back in time and he had an elaborate setup to see if this was possible. While we talked he explained to me that his father had died who he loved very much, but never suggested sending anything back in time, except for this one atom. He was also very proud of the fact that he was the first black physicist. We had a very friendly interview and I left on very good terms. A week later a huge headline appeared in one of those supermarket rags that read “Doctor conducting time travel experiments to meet his deceased father”. I tried to contact him after this, but I haven't been successful. I don't know whether this article has caused him to distrust the media, or he thinks that I had something to do with that story, which I didn't, but I regret the fact that some other publication would use my interview to twist what was said, to make a sensational story. I am sure that this did not bode well for Dr. Mallett with peers and maybe even the college that was funding his work. I have been surprised to find that a lot of my material has been used as the basis for newspaper articles and even by television. One might wonder how I know this, but the answer is very simple. I have been contacted by different television shows for material or questioned about where I got material from. Not every interview has gone the way that I would've liked it to. I guess considering how many interviews I have done so far, the one interview that I was unhappy with still leaves me with a pretty good interview record. I am not going to disclose what interview upset me, since I do not want to embarrass the person I was interviewing, but I can tell you this, this person knew less about this topic than I did and he was supposed to be an inventor. I almost didn't put this interview online, but then I decided it might be informative for people to see that not every person knows what he is talking about. There was also the possibility of a language barrier. I posted the interview and surprisingly, no one ever commented about it. I guess they felt the same way about it as I did. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful people that consented to be interviewed. They have taught me a lot and I hope you a lot too and I hope that in this new year I have a chance to interview some more interesting people. I also want to thank all those that I did not mention that I have interviewed, I would have liked to talk about all of them, but this was not practical in the space that I had. By the way if any of you out there believe that you have an interesting story to tell and would like to be interviewed contact me through my email and I will check it out and if I agree, we can have an interview. An example of this was a lady that contacted me that had an alien probe removed by Dr. Leir, the famous surgeon that specializes in this. |
