Did Some SciFi Movies Relay Secret Information?

There have been an awful lot of science fiction movies that have come out of Hollywood over the years and many from other places. Some of them were extremely bad, while others were not only good but made us think about things. Some of the bad ones had names like Earth Women Are Easy, or War of the Colossal Beast. These types of science fiction movies are not the type that I am going to talk about. It is the other type that I am going to talk about, the type that some people claim were made to relay a message to us, a message that could not be told directly because the person telling it, even if he or she had evidence, would have either been stopped or laughed out of the community.

So where do we start? Perhaps a good place to start might be the original movie of The Day The Earth Stood Still. Remember I am not talking about the remake. The movie was about a friendly space traveler who comes to earth with a very powerful robot that has the power to destroy planets. All he wants to do is make contact and warn us that we can not continue our war like ways. As an incentive, he tells us about a group of planets that are friendly and that we can join. There are many people that believe that this is the message from the UFOs that seem to be spotted all over the planet and this movie was just a way of sending the message to the public. If it was, I guess it fell on deaf ears, since the movie came out in 1951 and since then, the earth has experienced many wars. The message was that the friendly planets would not allow us into space with deadly weapons and they would rather destroy us.

The movie actually came from a short story that was written by Harry Bates and published in the October 1940 edition of Astounding Science Fiction. Did Bates know something that we didn't? Here is a strange fact. Bates was not a fan of science fiction, but became the editor of the magazine that his short story was published in. It is said that Bates wrote at least one story about alien abduction. While this may not have anything to do with anything, could it be that either he was once abducted, or knew someone who was and the message in his short story was a real one? One has to remember that Bates used many other names.

Close Encounters Of The Third Kind is another movie that some believe is trying to tell us something. There are those that think that Spielberg was privy to some information about a first contact situation between aliens and us and that the movie was an effort to let us know about this. Indeed it is said that President Eisenhower had met with aliens in secret, could this have been the basis for the movie? Even more profound was that the director who was Spielberg was also the writer. He did not leave Close Encounters alone after it was made. Years later he revised it and added scenes and then 18 years after that created a 137 minute collector's edition. Why was he so intrigued with this film above all others? Could it have been because it was a true story, made to look like science fiction?

The theme of civilizations destroying themselves is nothing new and there may have been some truth to a movie that was released in 1956, named Forbidden Planet. We can find statements all over the Internet that state that aliens have warned some of us that we are going to destroy ourselves and this film was about a race that did just that by creating something that they could not control. Was this a message to us? Did someone have information that stated that we were going to destroy ourselves if we didn't change our ways? If they did, they would probably be right. Look at the mess we are in now with the oil spill, pollution, poisons in our water and food and a number of other problems we are ignoring.

2001 A Space Odyssey is a movie that some think is sending us several messages. The first message is that we are being watched from OUT there. These people believe that the makers of this movie used it to get their message across that we are under observation and that we better behave. The second message in this movies is said to be that technology can get out of hand and be bad for mankind under certain circumstances. This message is said to be driven home by HAL the computer that decides to act on its own. The final message is said to be that there is more to life than we suspect and we are told this by the mysterious nature of the film. We've seen scenes where time seems to go forward than backward, leading some to also believe that we are being told that time is really not what we think it is and can be manipulated. Did the makers of this film have some advanced knowledge that they wanted to give to us? Some think so.

Fahrenheit 451 is the last science fiction film that I will talk about today. The film is about control, control of humanity by a few who burn all the books and tell us what to think and do. Again some believe that this is a real look at the future of the human race as a few powerful people twist world affairs until they get them the way they want them. That way is to dumb down the human race to make them easier to handle. There is also talk of nuclear wars in the future started and won by the United States and in the end, a nuclear attack on the cities of the America. Isn't this what we worry about now? The story was published in 1951 and the movie came out in 1966. The story was by one of the greatest science fiction writers of all time, Ray Bradbury. Was it prophetic, did Bradbury know something that no one else suspected? Only time will tell.

Could these stories and movies have been merely vehicles to try and tell us something, something that we could not be told by any other method, because we would not have paid any attention? There are those that believe this, as I have said. When I am asked about this subject, truthfully I am not sure how I feel about this. There certainly are some reasons to believe either way and the majority of people will say that we are confusing entertainment with fact. It is up to you to make up your own mind on the subject.
