We Never Thought Of Them As Aliens

There has been an awful lot of talk about aliens and such on the Internet lately. I am talking about extraterrestrials. I myself have talked about them from time to time. Some say that they are already on the earth and we don't know it. Others say that there are races that are native to the earth that are not human, but possess the same, if not more, intelligence. Could a race of these creatures be right in front of us and we haven't noticed? Before you all jump up and say how could that happen, people would have to be stupid not to notice something like that, I would like to say that it is not a question of stupidity, but it could be a question of misunderstanding.

Think about where we would be today if we had no arms or legs, but in their place we might have had fins and lived in the oceans of the world. Would we have been able to create the monumental structures that humans have created over the centuries? Would it have been possible to even have created the simplest things like tools? Let's take this a step further, would that have made us any less intelligent? Probably not and just the opposite could have happened. We might have devoted ourselves not only to survival, but also to things like philosophy and understanding our own world better. Are there any creatures on this planet that this description might fit? It just so happens that there are and they are the Dolphins. It has long been thought that Dolphins might even have a language that they communicate with and that we are not able to understand it yet. Their brains are bigger than ours and they do a lot of intelligent things that have been observed when they are in captivity.

Just to give you an idea of how smart they are, I am going to repeat a story. Workers at a facility that had a very large Dolphin tank had to clean it every day because people would throw paper into it. The workers decided to give the dolphins a fish every time they were given paper from the tank. The Dolphins figured out that they could get twice as many fish if they ripped the paper in half. They would save half at the bottom of the tank by putting something on it to weight it down and when they wanted a fish, they would simply take a piece of paper from their hoard and give it to their trainer. Many swimmers on the verge of drowning have been saved by Dolphins as have some who have been under shark attack. Why is this? Do Dolphins feel some kinship with humans? It certainly does seems so.

A neurophysiologist named John C. Lilly has stated that Dolphins represent a non-human form of intelligence on this planet and that we might learn how to communicate with them. If he is right then complex intelligence has developed at least twice on this planet, or has it? Could the Dolphins be the native intelligence and could we be descended from another planet such as Mars? If we twist that proposition around it could be that the Dolphins are from somewhere else. It has been said that if we can develop a method of figuring out the language of the Dolphins, it will help us to decipher other languages that we might encounter if we explore space. Image the consequence if it turns out that Dolphins have a higher average I.Q. than we do. There may be some very practical things that Dolphins might be able to teach us.

We have all heard about UFOs that have been seen diving into and leaving the oceans of this world. UFO investigators assume that there are underwater bases that they go to and leave from, but could there be an entirely different reason for this behavior? What if it turns out that the Dolphins are smarter than us and extraterrestrial UFOs are visiting them? Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants. Perhaps Dolphins have developed a more harmonious way of living that appeals more to aliens than the savage way that humans live. Maybe as a race they would be more attractive to bond with than we would? We have heard many times that we appear too savage and indeed this is very easy to see, when you look at all the conflicts that have not only taken place on this planet, but which are taking place now.

I don't think that there is anyone out there that hasn't heard about Penn & Teller. They are magicians. Teller is the small guy and tells of his experience with meeting a Dolphin face to face. He was under the water and wearing an oxygen tank when a Dolphin shot past him then hovered looking right into his face. He says that he was scared, but that he felt that it was such an honest experience. There was man and Dolphin looking right at each other. He said that he wasn't sure what the polite thing to do was. He patted it. The Dolphin didn't move. It must have been quite an experience for both of them.

A researcher named Dr. Raja Merk Dove has been quoted as saying that bottlenosed mammals may be extraterrestrials from another planet. It is said that he claims that before man appeared, Dolphins were placed here and were hybrid humanoids that look like half man and half of what a Dolphin looks like today. He thinks that they have the power of telepathy and were put here to teach us about, “love, passion, and community.” There is much more to this as an article states that one day Dove was swimming and a Dolphin communicated with him telepathically. It went on to say that he believed that Dolphins actually come from a different dimension and in that dimension they may not even look the same.

This leads one to the question that was asked on Answers.com. That question was, “What is the difference between human DNA and dolphin DNA?” Anxious to hear the answer? Here is the answer, “According to Dr. David Busbee at Texas A&M, ...the dolphin genome and the human genome basically are the same. It's just that there's a few chromosomal rearrangements that have changed the way the genetic material is put together. Dolphin's have 44 chromosomes to our 46, but this is not necessarily a good measure due to the rearrangements mentioned. ” Wow, could we be closely related to Dolphins and that is why they like us so much?

Here is the unfortunate part of my Dolphin talk. Dolphins are now endangered. The things that are killing them are pollution, props, over fishing and such. Could it be that we are killing the only other creatures on earth that are equal or superior to us in intelligence? That just might turn out to be the greatest shame of all.
