Conspiracy There are enough conspiracy theories to go around the world several times. What gets me annoyed is that there are so many nutty ones that anything that has a chance of being true is buried in a sea of nonsense. We talk about disinformation a lot and I think that nowhere is it more prevalent than in this area. If one were to take a plausible theory, say about 9/11, or the Iraq war and mention it on the Internet, it would never get the attention it deserved. because a lot of people would say that it was just another kooky theory. Chew on this for awhile, if one has a scheme that is complicated and daring enough and they are high enough up, in say the government, who would ever believe that they were responsible for something that happened if the scope of the event was large enough? In light of this, I have decided to look through some of the conspiracy theories that are on the Internet and examine some of the ones that seem the most far out. Could these be disinformation made to sound so crazy that we would ignore all the other conspiracy theories? I will let you decide this. Katrina Damage We all know about hurricane Katrina and what unfortunately happened to the City of New Orleans. Did you know that there is a conspiracy theory that states that the levies were intentionally destroyed during the hurricane? You may say why would anyone do this? The theory states that FEMA and the Army got together in a scheme to kill African Americans and turn Louisiana into a Republican state. Supposedly the way the act was carried out was that the levies were dynamited. Hey the government might have been inept and even uncaring to some extent, when the hurricane hit and in the help it supplied later on, but blowing up the levies seems a bit much. We are being asked to believe that the government would risk killing all those people because someone at the head of a political party asked them to. Fluoride in our water supply has sparked many a conspiracy theory. One I heard stated that it was put there to cut down on births. There are some doctors that have even stated this, but the best conspiracy theory regarding Fluoride is the one that says that there is a conspiracy by Masonic dentists. Supposedly there is a secret Masonic dentist society that is trying to poison us for some unknown reason. I like it better when the conspiracy theories have at least a reason attached to them for the action that was taken. The US has got itself into a great recession. As we know, businesses had to be bailed out and small checks were mailed out to most citizens. The recession spread to other countries and for awhile it looked like the entire world could be pulled down financially, except for those countries like Saudi Arabia that were rolling in oil money. So how did this all happen. According to one conspiracy theory, there is a secret world government and they are doing everything possible to do away with the middle class. The whole idea is to have either the very rich or the very poor, who can then be controlled. The theory goes a step further. It states that a war is going to be forced upon the world that will kill about 90% of everyone leaving a controllable amount of people that can then work in the factories and such, thus ensuring a sort of class of elite above them. I don't know how wide spread this conspiracy theory is, but it states that only the United States has nuclear weapons and all the other countries that say that they have them are bluffing. When I first heard this, I wondered about all those Soviet nuclear bomb tests and even the French ones in the Pacific. I was wondering how they could just be ignored. I guess there is just no accounting for a conspiracy theory. There has been talk, from time to time, of a plan that would unite Canada, the United States and Mexico into a North American Union, much as the European Union is. It was even proposed that a common currency be issued. It has been said that President Obama thought about it, but decided against it. I think that the idea was to ease pressure on the dollar, but it was felt that this wouldn't help. Some conspiracy theorists have been saying that a mystery organization is pushing this plan, because they want to establish a new world order and this is how it would start. I would think that the country that would benefit the most from this would have to be Mexico. Could Mexico be at the head of the New World Order idea? Silly isn't it? The FEMA and financial crisis conspiracy theory states that FEMA was ordered to set up concentration camps across the U.S. It further states that the government is going to use the financial crisis to impose Martial Law and that millions of Americans are to be killed in these camps. Supposedly the government will feel that it can justify this because of the financial crisis. It is also said that the government is stockpiling plastic coffins and now has over 500,000 in storage. UFO The Space Alien conspiracy theory states that the government has been meeting and making deals with aliens. The aliens are the ones known as the Greys. It states that they have been allowed to abduct people and perform medical experiments on them in return for technology. Supposedly a program exists where we send some people to their planet for some years and they send some here. Bar-code Lastly the great bar-code conspiracy. Supposedly those codes that are given out at supermarkets that assign a bar-code to people are not only being used to give discounts. The theory says that their main purpose is to send information about your buying habits to a sophisticated computer program that analyzes every purchase and connects them to you. This information is then added, along with you picture from a camera that is watching you, to a file that already contains much information about you. The purpose of the file is to gain a knowledge of all your habits, so that you can be tracked someday if necessary. Supposedly the companies state the reason is for advertising. |
