I thought it might be fun and informative to some of you out there, to see how to build a computer. It just so happens that I decided to build myself a new computer and have recorded every step, so that others might take advantage of this and maybe build the computer of their dreams. The computer that I built took into account cost and best bang for the buck. The following is the specifics:

AMD Phanon II X 6 (6 cores) Black Edition 1090T CPU
(This came with a fan and greased base plate)

(This was a package deal that included the CPU, Fan and Motherboard)

This might sound like a lot, but you are building a powerful computer that would cost hundreds more today.

Back Plate

Back Plate With Connections

Get all your parts and put them on an empty table, leave them in a box until needed. First take the computer case out of the box and put it on an empty surface. There is a plate that all the back connections on the motherboard go through in the motherboard box. Take the plate out and press it from the inside of the computer case in the back into place in the opening of the same shape. Make sure that it is not upside down and that the writing can be read over the slots if the case is standing up. It will snap into place. Take both sides off of the case by unscrewing the thumb screws on the back side panels. There are 2 thumb screws on each side panel, they are in the back of the case. Slide the panels backward until they pop off. Put the screws back into the holes so that you don't lose them and put the side panels away for now.

Inside Case

Outside Computer Case And Inside Computer Case From Side

The case has so much room inside that it doesn't matter what order you do things in, but I strongly suggest you follow my lead. In the front of the case are 5 open bays hidden behind panels that pop out by squeezing tabs on them from the inside of the case. Pop one out and insert your DVD reader/writer into it. You will notice that there are black plastic buttons on the side of each outside bay. Outside bays being ones that you can unclip the plastic panels off of and gain access to the devices from the front of the case. Press the plastic button in, that is on the side of the bay that you just inserted the DVD player/writer into. It should click and lock the device into place. Check photo at the end of article to see the button.

Power Supply

Power Supply

A computer needs a power supply and we are going to install our 750 Watt beast. You will see a big hole at the bottom back of the case. The power supply comes with some screws that will install from outside the case. Push the part of the power supply that has the switch to the open slot. Make sure the fan is at the top of the power supply. Put the screws into the holes in the case that line up with the power supply. Great we now have that installed.
